THE ARTS-FOR-THE-COMMUNITY PROGRAM
Exposing, Developing and Celebrating the Arts to/for the Community
The ACP develops and produces performances, exhibitions, recitals, conferences, concerts, festivals, special Holiday Celebrations, workshops, etc. for schools & communities. It also functions as a producer and incubator agency for young Latino artists and new art/theatre companies that are seeking opportunities.
Overall, SEA’s ACP provides exposure to audiences of all art forms.
In 2005, SEA’s BORIMIX began as month long gathering during November-Puerto Rican Heritage Month -of the tropical island’s diaspora artists, and most events took place at The Clemente. Now BORIMIX takes place citywide and highlights the impact of the community on the arts and cultural life of the City, Nation, and Hemisphere. It has grown, organically, into an authentically New York expression of cultural mixing and urban arts fusion. Composed of more than twenty events in visual arts, theatre, spoken word, film, and roundtable or panel discussions, the past several festivals have seen us organize over 25 events and reach more than 10,000 during the Festival month. We have managed this success by convening a collaboration of 30 Latino/Hispanic cultural organizations to make diverse offerings that address important themes and issues for the artistic and cultural vibrancy of the citywide community.

3 KINGS DAY
The most important Latin American holiday for children is celebrated every year at Teatro SEA, where thousands of children from the community are invited to meet the Three Kings, enjoy traditional, Latino holiday music and receive a free gift!
Acústico (SEA’s Special Guest Artist Series/Concert Series): SEA’s Guest Artist Series features invited nationally and internationally known professional artists/companies that add their own special “ Sabor” flavor to the Teatro SEA’s season. With these unique, high quality performances/concerts from many Latin American artists/countries, it offers our family audiences a diversity of programming. Such programming allows our families an affordable way to travel around the world from their seat. Part of the benefits reside in that guest artists interact directly with audiences, giving workshops for students and special lectures. This series of workshops pivot around the unique styles taught by these acclaimed artists and offer a rare opportunity to work closely with masters in their field.
WORLD DAY OF PUPPETRY
Across the world on March 21st, the art form of puppetry is celebrated. Teatro SEA has joined this celebration since 2012, hosting and co-presenting with other organizations, such as Drama Works and The Puppetry Guild of Greater New York, the World Day of Puppetry Celebration. This celebration includes: A Celebrity Puppet Red Carpet, Puppet Cabaret, and Fiesta, benefiting UNIMA-USA! This event is endorsed by The North American Commission of UNIMA and UNIMA-USA
