Teatro SEA anuncia el tema para la 9na temporada de Microteatro New York, que se desarrollará del 22 de marzo al 2 de abril de 2021, abriéndole las puertas a nuevas propuestas teatrales de pequeño formato a presentarse de manera virtual en las redes sociales de Teatro SEA.
MICROTEATRO es un formato teatral, que consiste en la representación de micro obras con duración de 15-20 minutos, para un número máximo de 15 espectadores por función (en su formato presencial), representadas en un pequeños espacios alternativos. En su versión virtual, cada obra se presentará una única vez en nuestras redes sociales.
TEMA: Frida Kahlo será el tema para la 9na edición (marzo 2021). Se aceptarán propuestas que trabajen temas relacionados con su obra, su persona o situaciones relacionadas a su vida aunque no trabajen su persona directamente. Los escritores tendrán absoluta libertad de planteamiento y visión en cuanto al desarrollo del tema, así como el género del mismo.
BASES:
Los interesados deberán enviar sus textos originales en español o inglés. Las obras tendrán una duración de 15 a 20 minutos. Todas las propuestas recibidas, serán sometidas a evaluación para determinar las que formarán parte de esta muestra.
Los textos deberán enviarse en formato .doc, .docx o .pdf. El título del documento adjunto deberá ser el nombre de la obra y el nombre del autor (ej: NombreDeLaObra-Autor). Para que la obra sea considerada, es importante que la persona o agrupación teatral que envíe el texto tenga los derechos de la propiedad intelectual del autor.
Aunque la predilección es por obras teatrales con su correspondiente principio, progresión dramática y desenlace, se aceptarán performances de danza, expresión corporal o ejercicios de estilo siempre y cuando cumplan con los requisitos de extensión y tema. En esos casos el proponente deberá enviar un enlace a un vídeo.
Teatro SEA creará un comité de selección, quien se encargará de seleccionar los textos que serán representados durante MicroTeatro New York y se darán a conocer a inicios de marzo.
Las agrupaciones o proyectos teatrales cuyos textos o propuestas hayan sido seleccionados, serán los responsables de producir sus obras. Una vez se comunique la selección, los grupos escogidos proveerán a Teatro SEA de la información artística y técnica. Cada propuesta recibirá un estipendio de $500, posterior a la presentación de su obra.
MicroTheater New York propone un espacio de intercambio teatral alternativo para agrupaciones y teatristas hispanos en la ciudad de Nueva York.

Teatro SEA announces the theme for it’s 9th season of Microteatro New York, which will take place from March 22 to April 2, 2021. We are opening the doors to new and original small-format theatrical proposals to be presented virtually on Teatro SEA’s social media.
MICROTEATRO is a theatrical format, which consists of the representation of micro works lasting 15-20 minutes, for a maximum number of 15 spectators per show (in its original in person format), represented in small alternative spaces. In its virtual version, each work will be presented only once on our social networks.
THEME: Frida Kahlo is the theme for the 9th edition (March 2021). We will be accepting plays that deal with her art work, on issues related to her work, about her or situations related to her life, even if they do not focus on her directly. The writers will have absolute freedom of approach and vision regarding the development of the subject, as well as its genre.
REQUIREMENTS:
Those interested should send their original texts in Spanish or English. The work should last between 15 to 20 minutes. All proposals received will be subject to evaluation to determine which ones will be part of this season.
The texts must be sent in .doc, .docx or .pdf format. The title of the attached document must be the name of the work and the name of the author (eg: WorkName-Author). For plays to be considered, it is important that the person or theatrical group that sends the text has written permission or own the copyright from the author.
Although the preference is for theatrical works with their corresponding beginning, dramatic progression and ending, dance performances, body language or any style of performance will be accepted as long as they meet the length and theme requirements. In these cases, the applicant must send a link to a video of the work submitted.
Teatro SEA’s committee will be in charge of selecting the texts that will be presented during MicroTeatro New York. The chosen ones will be announced at the beginning of March.
The theater groups or projects whose texts or proposals have been selected will be responsible for producing their works. Once the chosen groups are announced, they will provide Teatro SEA with their artistic and technical information. Each selected work will receive a stipend of $500 after the presentation of their work.
MicroTheater New York provides an exchange and alternative theatrical space for Hispanic groups and theater players in New York City.
