Teatro SEA se complace en anunciar la 15ª temporada de Microteatro New York, que se llevará a cabo durante los días 21, 22 y 23 de junio de 2024, ofreciendo una plataforma para nuevas propuestas teatrales de pequeño formato. Dado el cierre temporal de Teatro SEA debido a las renovaciones en El Clemente, en esta edición las obras se presentarán en un mismo escenario, alternando con otras producciones.
MICROTEATRO es un formato teatral que consiste en la representación de micro obras en espacios íntimos y alternativos. En esta edición, se presentarán varios espectáculos por noche en el mismo escenario, con una capacidad de 30 a 50 personas.
TEMA: Para esta edición apelamos a la COMEDIA y al Stand Up Comedy como género. Se aceptarán propuestas para un solo actor en escena y con poco o ningún recurso escénico.
BASES:
Los interesados deberán enviar sus textos originales en español o inglés, los cuales deben estar escritos para una duración de 15 a 20 minutos.
Los textos deben enviarse en formato .doc, .docx o .pdf. El título del documento adjunto deberá ser el nombre de la obra y el nombre del autor (ej: NombreDeLaObra-Autor). Es importante que la persona o agrupación teatral que envíe la propuesta tenga los derechos de propiedad intelectual del texto presentado.
Teatro SEA creará un comité de selección, encargado de elegir los textos que serán representados durante Microteatro New York. Los resultados se darán a conocer en la primera semana de mayo. Cada propuesta seleccionada recibirá un estipendio de $350, posterior a la presentación de su espectáculo, y realizará un total de 2 a 3 funciones.
Microteatro New York ofrece un espacio de intercambio teatral alternativo para agrupaciones y teatristas hispanos en la ciudad de Nueva York.
Esta iniciativa es auspiciada por The Coalition of Theaters of Colors y es una iniciativa del NYC Council y el NYC Department of Cultural Affairs.

Call for submissions for the 15th season of Microteatro New York
Teatro SEA is pleased to announce the 15th season of Microteatro New York, which will take place on June 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, 2024, providing a platform for new small-scale theatrical proposals.
Due to the temporary closure of Teatro SEA due to renovations at El Clemente, in this edition, the plays will be presented on the same stage, alternating with other productions.
MICROTEATRO is a theatrical format consisting of the representation of micro-plays in intimate and alternative spaces. In this edition, several shows will be presented each night on the same stage, with a capacity of 30 to 50 people.
THEME: For this season, we appeal to COMEDY and Stand-Up Comedy as a genre. Proposals for a single actor on stage and with few or no scenic resources will be accepted.
GUIDELINES: Interested parties should submit their original texts in Spanish or English, which must be written for a duration of 15 to 20 minutes. Texts should be submitted in .doc, .docx, or .pdf format. The title of the attached document should be the name of the play and the name of the author (e.g., PlayName-Author). It is important that the person or theater group submitting the proposal holds the intellectual property rights to the text presented.
Teatro SEA will create a selection committee, responsible for choosing the texts to be represented during Microteatro New York. The results will be announced in the first week of May. Each selected proposal will receive a stipend of $350, after the presentation of their show, and will perform a total of 2 to 3 performances.
Microteatro New York offers an alternative theatrical exchange space for Hispanic groups and theater practitioners in the city of New York.
