DESCRIPTION:Teatro SEA is Beyond Proud to partner with CENTRO for a special Bilingual Story Hour at Silberman School of Social Work!\n¡Teatro SEA se orgullese en colaborar con el Centro de Estudios Puertorriqueños para realizar una hora especial de cuentos bilingüe en la Escuela de Trabajo Social Silberman!\nJoin them once a month on Saturday afternoons at the Silberman School of Social Work for La Meriendita, a story hour dedicated to children’s books. This month’s story hour book is The Journey of Pura Belpre’s Tales by Manuel Morán, a story dedicated to Pura Belpre’s legendary “Bilingual Story Hour.” Her famous tales: Pérez & Martina, Juan Bobo, and The Three Magi come to life in a creative and interactive experience. Bring your little ones by for a story on their culture, arts & crafts, and snacks!\nPura Belpré (1901-1982) was a talented author, collector of folktales, puppeteer, and storyteller who wrote and reinterpreted Puerto Rican folk tales. As the first Puerto Rican librarian in the New York Public Library system, she pioneered many programs for the Latino community.\nRECOMMENDED FOR PRE-K TO 3RD GRADE. PERFORMED IN SPANISH OR BILINGUAL\nÚnase a ellos una vez al mes los sábados por la tarde en la Escuela de Trabajo Social Silberman para La Meriendita, una hora de cuentos dedicada a los libros para niños. El libro de la hora del cuento de este mes es El viaje de los cuentos de Pura Belpre de Manuel Morán, una historia dedicada a la legendaria “Hora del cuento bilingüe” de Pura Belpre. Sus famosos cuentos: Pérez & Martina, Juan Bobo y Los Reyes Magos cobran vida en una experiencia creativa e interactiva. ¡Traiga a sus pequeños para que les cuenten una historia sobre su cultura, artes y manualidades y refrigerios!\nPura Belpré (1901-1982) fue una talentosa escritora, coleccionista de cuentos tradicionales, titiritera y cuenta cuentos que escribió y re-interpretó las historias populares puertorriqueñas.
